Apple Crisp
Ingredients:
Apple Filling:
- 12 apples peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice
- 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
- 2 tsps ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 cup white sugar
Crumble:
- 2 ½ cups old-fashioned rolled oats
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup butter, cubed
Toppings if desired:
- Vanilla Ice Cream
- Caramel Sauce
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease 9x13 baking pan.
In a medium-size bowl, add sliced apples with lemon juice, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and white sugar and mix until apple slices are evenly coated. Transfer to greased 9x13 baking pan.
In another medium-size bowl, add rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and baking powder. Mix well to combine and then cut in cubed butter. Using pastry cutter or fingers combine butter with dry ingredients until it resembles small peas. Sprinkle crumble evenly over apple filling.
Bake for 50-60 minutes, depending on your oven. Once it’s done baking let it cool. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce if desired. Enjoy!
